The 39th Macao Young Musicians Competition, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will start on 11 July. The provisional Competition schedule is now available on the Macao Young Musicians Competition website (www.icm.gov.mo/cjmm).
This edition of the Macao Young Musicians Competition is dedicated to the category of piano. More than 1,300 applications were received, recording almost a two-fold increase compared with previous years. The “Competition” will be held from 11 to 28 July at the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (Main Campus), while the “Special Prize Competition” will be held on 1 August in a venue to be announced in due course. The order of performance will be determined through a random electronic ballot. All participants must register at the Competition registration desk during the designated period by presenting the original copy of their valid Macao Resident Identity Cards and perform according to the allocated order. The warm-up room schedule will be determined by the organizer on-site according to the order of the performance. In case of exceptional circumstances which require the order of performance to be changed, participants are required to complete and submit the “Request for Change of Competition Order” as well as the supporting documents in person at the Cultural Affairs Bureau Building during office hours on or before 14 May. Any change of the order of performance is not valid without being approved by the Organizer.
In light of the epidemic, the Cultural Affairs Bureau will adjust the arrangement of the Competition and take corresponding anti-epidemic measures, including providing the appropriate number of seats in each area of the competition venue and taking crowd control measures according to the actual situation. For enquiries, please contact the Cultural Affairs Bureau through tel. no. 8399 6946 or 8399 6609 during office hours.
