Cultural Affairs Bureau extends rental waive of CCM’s Facilities

Since Covid-19 broke out last year, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has implemented numerous measures to ease the burden caused by the pandemic to arts practitioners and cultural associations, including Macao Cultural Centre’s Rental Waiver scheme. Now, aiming to support a consistent recovery of local associations, IC will extend this Rental Waiver until 31 December 2021.

Since its launch, the scheme has been supporting local artistic and cultural groups so they shift their resources into programme production and staff expenses, contributing to stepping up the recovery of the cultural and performing arts landscape. Until now, 36 local associations have benefited from the scheme hosting 129 performances, attended by an audience of 23,000 patrons at CCM’s venues. Considering the current economic situation and the new challenges in the cultural and performing arts realm, IC will continue to contribute its share to the development and recovery of the creative industries through the extension of the Rental Waiver until 31 December 2021.
