Second phase of “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project attracts many signups

The second phase of the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project has begun welcoming applications since 17 June and attracted over 3,700 enthusiastic applicants on the first two days. Offering residents an initiative to enjoy a diversity of local sightseeing tours, the project presents 19 itineraries teeming with fascinating highlights, ready to set off in July and August.

9,149 hotel packages sold for 23,028 overnight guests

As part of the “2021 Scheme for Employment Security, Economic Stabilization and Care for Residents’ Livelihood”,the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project aims to spur rises in domestic demand and spending in communities for gradual revival of the tourism and related industries.

The “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project has been welcoming applications since 18 April 2021. As of 14 June, the project has engaged 534 tour bus drivers, 451 local tour guides, 167 travel agencies, 67 hotels and guest houses as well as 534 tour buses (including barrier-free tour bus for wheelchair users). For experience of local hotels, 9,149 hotel packages have been sold, involving 23,028 overnight guests in total.

Innovative elements for fun experiences

The local tour itineraries of the second phase of the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project incorporate various innovative elements. The itineraries under “Maritime Tour Series”, “Adventure·Fun Series” and “Parent & Child·Sports·DIY Series” are especially popular with many signups among other routes. To cater for residents’ need to spend summer vacation in Macao during the pandemic, tour groups will set off daily for some of the itineraries.

Besides local tours, the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project also offers hotel staycation experience from Monday to Sunday as well as on public holidays until the end of December 2021. The hotels under the project are ready to welcome residents especially during the summer holidays. Some hotels also provide staycation packages that include other tourism products, while others feature partnership with products of community businesses to enrich residents’ staycation experience. Over 380 hotel packages were sold over the past two days.

Fascinating itineraries to enhance the destination’s glamour

Except the Helicopter Ride Experience and Yacht Check-in Tour, travelers are also welcome to sign up for the other 18 tour itineraries at full price.

The number of applications is also satisfactory for the Macao Highlight Tours launched by Macao’s travel trade for visitor markets. Operating in small-sized groups, the Macao Highlight Tours allow visitors to enjoy private tours along tailor-made itineraries. Transportation services are arranged for tour participants who can request for tour guide service in Cantonese, Mandarin or English as preferred. During the tours, participants can enjoy interactive communication and relish different elements offered. Pre-appointed tour groups continue to set off for the “Amazing one-day tour with ‘MAK MAK’” and the “Private helicopter charter ride” favored particularly by visiting participants.

During the Macao Tourism and MICE Presentation Seminars organized by the Macao SAR Government as part of the Macao Weeks in Jiangsu and Shanghai earlier, the Macao Highlight Tours have won the attention of the travel trade in respective places. The Macao Highlights Tours were launched to offer a greater diversity of Macao travel products and profound itineraries, in turn steering Macao’s tourism development towards diversification and sustainability.

Local tours under the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project and the Macao Highlight Tours are operated in strict compliance with Health Bureau’s guidelines on pandemic prevention. MGTO will continue to pay close attention to the latest situation of the COVID-19 pandemic while making prompt and appropriate arrangements for all the activities in accord with the guidelines issued by Health Bureau. In case of adverse weather conditions, residents who have signed up for the project are advised to stay tuned to the latest activity arrangements.
