“Incubation Plan for Macao’s KOL in Tourism” draws electronic lots for content creation training camp today (28 July)

As part of the “Incubation Plan for Macao’s KOL in Tourism” (referred to as the “Plan”) organized by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and coordinated by Macau Live Streaming Association, the content creation training camp has attracted applications from a total of 303 enthusiastic residents. As the number of applicants exceeded the quota of 50, electronic lots were cast at MGTO today (28 July) to decide the list of trainees.

Acting Director of MGTO, Cheng Wai Tong, and President of Macau Live Streaming Association, José Chan Rodrigues, together pressed the button for lots casting. Applicants numbered 1 – 50 by the electronic lots include 20 tour guides and 30 cultural travel enthusiasts, who will be notified individually by phone call and mobile text message. Applicants can check out the result of the lots on Macao Tourism Industry Net: https://industry.macaotourism.gov.mo/en/ from today (28 July).

The “Incubation Plan for Macao’s KOL in Tourism” aims to encourage Macao residents and travel trade to leverage social networks to spotlight Macao as a wonderful destination with diverse travel experiences to offer, in order to attract more visitors to Macao and spur tourism and economic revival. One of the Plan’s highlights is the content creation training camp. Eligible trainees of the camp can join the camp trainee video competition.

The training camp will be conducted at the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre on 7, 8, 21 and 22 August. Professionals from the Mainland network company named Miracle·Top and the Macau Live Streaming Association will be instructors at the camp. From basic knowledge to advanced skills, the instructors will share with trainees an introduction to Douyin and know-how of gaining fans, to enhance their skills of short video production and promotion.

Trainees who achieve 75% of attendance are eligible for joining the video competition. Contestants can produce and release two short videos on Douyin between 15 August and 6 September. The judging criteria include the following two categories — platform data and assessment of the judging panel. Judged on their entries’ level of popularity, relevance to the theme, creativity, filming skills and other aspects, ten outstanding creators will be designated as “Macao Travel KOL” and awarded an honorary certificate of “Outstanding Content Creators on Tourism” by MGTO. The list of awardees will be unveiled on 27 September, the World Tourism Day.
