The tropical depression in the northern part of South China Sea has intensified into a tropical storm named “Lupit”. It is forecasted that “Lupit” will further move away from Macao and will generally move towards the region between eastern Guangdong and the coast of Fujian. When “Lupit” further moves away, its threat to Macao will be reduced, and SMG will then consider cancelling all Tropical Cyclone Warning signals at that time.
However, under the influence of the outer northerly airstream of “Lupit”, it is hot in Macao today, and there may be occasional thunderstorms and rains due to rain bands triggered by high temperature in inland. The public are advised to pay attention to the change in weather.
