Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the “Tap Siac Craft Market” will be held from 19 to 21 November and from 26 to 28 November at Tap Siac Square. The calls for stall operators and creative handicraft workshops are open from 31 August and all interested parties are welcome to apply.
The “Tap Siac Craft Market” is a distinctive brand in the cultural and creative market held annually since 2008, in spring and autumn, providing a platform for cultural and creative practitioners to display and sell their products and to communicate with each other. In conjunction with the epidemic prevention work, the number of stalls in the upcoming “Tap Siac Craft Market” will be reduced compared with before the pandemic. There will be 110 handicraft and creative gastronomy stalls, which will showcase a diverse range of creative products by cultural and creative practitioners from Macao and Mainland China. Concurrently, music performances will be held.
Applications for stalls and creative handicraft workshops are open from 10am on 31 August until 11:59pm on 13 September, and are free of charge. Applicants for stalls may apply online through the “Tap Siac Craft Market” website at www.craftmarket.gov.mo. All products submitted for sale must be original designs with a minimum of 10 models for sale. If the number of eligible stalls exceeds the quota, IC will select the stalls by drawing lots.
Applications for the creative handicraft workshops may be submitted either in hard copy or via email. The printed application form can be obtained from and submitted at the reception of the Cultural Affairs Bureau Building, located at Tap Siac Square, during office hours, while the electronic application form may be sent to apply.DPICC@icm.gov.mo. The workshops will be selected and assessed on the basis of a set of comprehensive criteria such as project completion, feasibility, aesthetic and attractiveness of the work, budget and teachers’ expertise. Details of the application regulations and application forms can be obtained and downloaded from the “Tap Siac Craft Market” website and the Macao Cultural and Creative Industries Website at www.macaucci.gov.mo.
IC will closely monitor the epidemic situation, actively follow the relevant guidelines issued by the Health Bureau, and make proper arrangements for the event. For enquiries, please call Ms. Zhou, staff member of IC, at 8399 6289 during office hours.
