Starting after the stroke of midnight on 1 September, individuals intending to enter the city via Macau International Airport from any mainland city will be able to present a ‘negative’ result certificate for a nucleic acid test for COVID-19 infection, done within seven days of them boarding their flight.
The extension of the validity period for such a certificate was announced on Monday (30 August) by the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre. Nucleic acid test certificate requirements for people arriving in Macao via other boundary checkpoints remain unchanged.
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre issued a reminder that the Macao public should pay close attention to particular nucleic acid test requirements for inbound travellers to some mainland cities. For example, Beijing currently requires people to present before boarding a flight from Macao to Beijing, a ‘negative’ COVID-19 test result issued within 48 hours.
