Government thanks voters and civil servants for their involvement in the election

The 2021 Legislative Assembly Election has been held successfully, in a smooth and orderly way. The event took place in a lawful, fair, open and clean manner.

The 2021 election has been held amid the challenging situation facing Macao and neighbouring cities regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only was it necessary to ensure the election was held in a lawful and orderly way, but the event also had to be organised in strict adherence to anti-epidemic guidelines issued by the Health Bureau. In addition, on election day, the weather was very hot, and rain showers occurred.

Under such circumstances, about 137,000 voters took part in polling today to exercise their civic duty. The Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government expressed sincere gratitude for their involvement. The MSAR Government also issued its thanks to more than 3,000 civil servants assisting with the event, for making sure electoral arrangements and other related logistics worked as planned.
