As the pandemic situation stabilized in Macao, the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project will resume operation of local tours from 18 September onwards, following the latest pertinent guidelines adjusted by Health Bureau.
Owing to the pandemic situation weeks ago and in parallel with the Macao SAR Government’s latest efforts to contain and prevent the pandemic, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) suspended the local tours of the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project from 4 August until 17 September to safeguard public safety. The “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project will resume operation of local tours from 18 September onwards. For enquiries, please dial 8396 3052/2838 9153 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. Starting from today (14 September), interested individuals can sign up for the local tours through travel agencies under the project or at the information counters specially set up in six local hotels and integrated resorts.
Fervent participation in local tours at first two phases
13 adjusted itineraries are launched for 3rd phase
The “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project conducts local tours at three successive phases spanning from April – June, July – August and September – December respectively. The 13 adjusted itineraries for the third phase will be rolled out from September to December as planned.
In addition, the hotel staycation experience under the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project will last until the end of December 2021, available from Monday to Sunday as well as on public holidays. Every permanent or non-permanent Macao SAR resident who has not joined the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project before is entitled to a one-time subsidy for each of both categories – local tour and hotel staycation. Visitors to Macao are also welcome to join the tours at full price.

In August, 9,335 individuals signed up for local tours while a total of 2,803 hotel packages were sold. Owing to the suspension of the “Stay, Dine and see Macao” local tours because of the pandemic situation in early August, 8,514 individuals cancelled their signup for local tours while 2,042 hotel packages were cancelled in August, involving 12,598 individuals in total.
Addition of daily-run itineraries in September – December
During local tour suspension, the Task Force for the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project received many enquiries from residents who also expressed hope for joining the local tours. In response to residents’ enthusiasm for participation, as well as to sustain the livelihood of personnel of tourism-related sectors and foster greater revival of the tourism and related industries, the project will run local tours not only on weekends and public holidays, but also offer daily tours along certain itineraries in accord with the plan. A total of 13 adjusted itineraries will be available.
Two daily-run itineraries include: explore Nossa Senhora Village of Ká Hó; VR experience/encounter with celebrities + explore Coloane Karting Track + Portuguese egg tart DIY experience;
The itinerary available on Wednesday – Sunday and public holidays is about exploring the history of Macao and Macau Grand Prix;

Strict compliance with latest pandemic prevention guidelines
Local tours under the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project are operated in strict compliance with the Health Bureau’s guidelines on pandemic prevention, including the requirements to wear masks, have the temperature checked and present Macao Health Code, among other measures, whereas holders of Macao Health Code in Red or Yellow Colour are not allowed to participate in the local tours. Upon admission to public establishments during the local tours, tour participants are required to present Macao Health Code in accordance with the latest version of “Prevention of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia – Recommendation to Require Presentation of ‘Macao Health Code’ for Admission to Public Areas” issued by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.
MGTO will continue to pay close attention to the latest situation of the COVID-19 pandemic while making prompt and appropriate arrangements for all the activities in accord with the guidelines issued by Health Bureau.
