“Chinese-Portuguese News Learning App” version 2.0
In order to further leverage the role of the Sino-Portuguese platform and promote the exchange of information and bilingual learning between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, Macao Polytechnic Institute officially launched the “China-Portuguese News Learning App” version 2.0 this month. The new version integrates information categories on the basis of the original version, with column classification, adding seven major sections: Greater Bay Area, Employment, Technology, Entertainment, Sports, Life, and Culture to continue to provide users with the latest and hottest news and information and high-quality Chinese-Portuguese bilingual learning resources.
Initially, Macao Polytechnic Institute officially launched the “Chinese-Portuguese News Learning App” in November 2020. The “Chinese-Portuguese News Learning App” uses the Macao Daily as its news source to provide users with continuously updated bilingual parallel news. Since the App was launched, the response has been enthusiastic and widely acclaimed. While delivering information about China and Macao to Portuguese-speaking countries, it also provides abundant learning resources for people studying Portuguese in Macao, the Mainland and other regions, and people studying Chinese in Portuguese-speaking countries.
The news section in the new version of “Chinese-Portuguese News Learning App” includes “Local News”, “China News”, “World News”, “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”, “Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone”, and “Portuguese speaking countries” etc., with nearly 20 categories covering current affairs and the latest information about Macao, the Mainland, Hong Kong, Portuguese-speaking countries and the international community. In addition, the program also provides news retrieval functions to support hot topics such as “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”, “Belt and Road”, “14th Five-Year Plan”, “Guangdong-Macao Cooperation”, “Hengqin”, and “Forum Macao” and so on.
“Chinese-Portuguese News Learning App” is a scientific research product developed by Macao Polytechnic Institute. The “Chinese-Portuguese News Learning App” relies on Chinese-Portuguese bilingual parallel corpus and the world's leading neural network machine translation technology, combined with the rich experience of the institute in Chinese-Portuguese fields of language and translation teaching, thus realizing the transformation and application of scientific research results.
The new version of “Chinese-Portuguese News Learning App” facilitates users to learn about news and information from all over the world in both Chinese and Portuguese languages, and also provides bilingual learning materials for Chinese and Portuguese language learners. The application provides three download modes: App Store, Google Play and APK installation package.
