“Macao Week in Sichuan•Chengdu” will be unveiled this Friday Extensive promotions are unfolding

The mega roadshow “Macao Week in Sichuan•Chengdu” will be held at Jiaozi Plaza, Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone in Chengdu from 23 – 27 September, with a grand opening ceremony this Friday (24 September). A variety of promotions are successively unfolding in Chengdu to create lively ambience for the event and promote Macao as a safe and quality destination, drawing Mainland visitors to Macao for travel and spending during the upcoming National Day Golden Week to spur tourism and economic revival.

Eye-catching physical promotions just around the corner

To welcome the grand opening of the mega roadshow “Macao Week in Sichuan•Chengdu”, a 3D animation commercial is projected upon the landmark architecture – Twin Towersof Tianfu International Financial Centre at the roadshow venue, Jiaozi Plaza, to spotlight Macao’s charm as a safe and quality destination.

Buses designed for creative promotion are also arranged to pass through different popular districts abounding with people in Chengdu several times per day, including Martial Marquis Memorial Temple, Kuanzhai Alley, Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li, to attract residents for the roadshow.

A variety of advertisements are also on display in Chengdu including those on interior walls and light boxes at MTR stations, LED screens at commercial buildings and shopping malls, where the diversity of fascinating travel experiences offered by Macao are manifested continuously, to create vibrant ambience for the event in advance.

Creative and diverse online promotions

The event promotions will present a total of over RMB-110-million special travel offers for residents there. As one of the highlights, “Macao Blind Box” will be set up with installations and available for sale at booths at the roadshow. Priced at RMB 99 each, the Blind Box will randomly offer abundant Macao travel products on hotel accommodation, air tickets, tourist attractions, dining, signature products and travel photoshoot packages among others.

During the roadshow, individuals who indicate that they follow MGTO’s WeChat official ID can each obtain a gift at the tourist information counter. Spectators can also take photos at any of the showcase zones at the roadshow, put the hashtag “Macao Week in Sichuan•Chengdu” and share the photos with friends on social networks such as WeChat, Sina Weibo and Douyin, to obtain a souvenir at the tourist information counter.

In terms of online promotion, the organizer partners with various online travel agencies to spotlight the roadshow and Macao travel offers, while leveraging various online and offline platforms and the influence of different KOLs in the Mainland to conduct live streams continuously and promote the Macao Week in Sichuan•Chengdu extensively.

More information about the Macao Week in Sichuan•Chengdu will be steadily coming up on MGTO’s official accounts on WeChat, Weibo, Xiaohongshu and Douyin. At the same time, visitors are advised to complete the formalities for entry and pandemic prevention before visiting Macao and adhere to pandemic prevention guidelines issued by the Macao SAR Government during their stay.

Under the tutelage of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, the Macao Week in Sichuan•Chengdu is organized by the Secretariat for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government, Chengdu Municipal People’s Government and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Sichuan Province. The coordinators include Macao Government Tourism Office, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Chengdu Municipal People’s Government and Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee. The supporting entities include Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Shenzhen Liaison Office of Guangzhou Office of the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, Industrial Association of Macau, Macau Importers & Exporters Association, the Federal General Commercial Association of Macau Small and Medium Enterprises, Wynn Resorts (Macau) and Hotel W Chengdu. The participating entities include Galaxy Macau, Melco Resorts & Entertainment, MGM, Sands Resorts Macao, SJM Resorts, Wynn Resorts (Macau), Air Macau, Macau Fisherman’s Wharf as well as various small and medium-sized enterprises from Macao.
