Subsidized nursery facilities, non-residential and non-emergency social facilities suspended in the next two days

In order to prevent and control the epidemic and ensure the safety and health of all service users and staff members, the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) announces that the operation of subsidized nursery facilites, non-residential and non-emergency social facilities in Macao will be suspended over the weekend (September 25 and 26). However, residential homes (such as various types of reception centres, sheltered facilities and care homes) and emergency support services (such as LifeLine, SafeTrans emergency call service and Rehabus service) will remain open during this period. It is also recommended that all non-subsidized facilities cooperate and follow the above-mentioned epidemic prevention measures.

During this period, family visits to residents’ rooms will be suspended in all nursing homes and rehabilitation homes. Family members can contact the facility for advance appointment to meet with the residents in the visiting area of the facility, or to communicate with bedridden residents by video calls.

The activities organized by the IAS and visits to the exhibition area of senior apartments are also suspended during the two days.

The IAS hopes that the public will understand and cooperate with the measures. The resumption of the facilities will be announced later in accordance with the evolution of the epidemic. In case of need, the public may check with the respective facilities for operational arrangements.
