The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre (hereinafter referred to as “the Centre”) announces that, given the potential risk of infection of passengers who took the same bus with the confirmed cases of COVID-19, it is necessary to identify these people through the bus riding records; for this purpose, pursuant to paragraph 2 of article 4 of Decree-Law no. 81/99/M, the health authorities have required Macau Pass, SA to suspend the payment function of such Macau Pass cards whose holders are likely to have taken the same buses with recently detected cases of COVID-19, taking effect from 6:00 am on 7 October 2021.
This measure aims to alert passengers who have possibly traveled on the same bus with confirmed COVID-19 patients, thus facilitating the tracking and tracing of relevant individuals.
Anyone who finds that the payment function of their “Macau Pass” card has been deactivated must immediately visit the website of the “Macau Pass” inquiry system (https://bit.ly/covidBus) to verify whether they had had a common bus trip with recently confirmed patients. If such bus trip records were found after checking, the card holder should report to the “Reporting and Assistance System for COVID-19 Prevention and Control” (link: https://www.ssm.gov.mo/covidq), send a text message to 63337492, or email info.cdc@ssm.gov.mo with their personal information, date and time of relevant bus trip, bus number and boarding and alighting bus stations, for timely follow-up by the competent authorities.
When the epidemiological investigation is completed, the Health Bureau will notify the “Macau Pass” company to reactivate the payment function.
