Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for June - August 2021 increased by 0.2% over the previous period (May - July 2021) to 269.5. The index for the Macao Peninsula (270.8) grew by 0.2%, while that for Taipa & Coloane (264.0) held steady from the previous period.
The index for existing residential units (290.5) went up by 0.3%, with the indices for those in the Macao Peninsula (283.6) and Taipa & Coloane (318.7) rising by 0.4% and 0.3% respectively. Analysed by age of building, the index for residential units of buildings between 11 and 20 years old grew by 2.0%, whereas the index for those between 6 and 10 years old decreased by 1.0%. Meanwhile, the index for pre-sale residential units (294.1) dropped by 0.9%.
The indices for residential units with a usable floor area of 100 square metres or more and for those with less than 50 square metres increased by 0.5% and 0.2% respectively. In terms of high- and low-rise buildings, the indices for residential units of buildings with seven storeys or less and for those with more than seven storeys rose by 0.5% and 0.2% respectively.
