The “Stay, Dine and See Macao” local tours will set off once again tomorrow (23 October). To ensure smooth operation of local tours, safety and cleanliness of pertinent facilities, as well as proper implementation of various tasks involved, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the Task Force for the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project have been strenuously carrying out different preparations for days, in hope that tour participants can enjoy a safe and wonderful journey around Macao.
The tours that will set off tomorrow will cover different highlights such as exploring the history of Macao and Macau Grand Prix, maritime tour with buffet dinner on ferry, visit to the Macao Tower for the panoramic view of the city and sightseeing bus tour around the Cotai District.
Command Centre coordinates group arrangements to ensure smooth tour operation
Upon receiving all the information of tour signups, the Command Centre of the Task Force will organize such information and work out the arrangements for tour groups, before informing the tour guides in charge to obtain the needed supplies such as work lists, tour group participant lists, tour group number badges, tour group stickers as well as first-aid kits. When notified about the information concerned, tour guides will inform tour group participants of the assembly time and location as well as things to take note of via text messages.
Preparations completed at assembly point
Technicians have already reinstalled the computers and equipment required for registration at MGTO’s Tourist Information counter at the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal and conducted testing, enabling tour guides to complete required formalities for tour group participants more swiftly. Residents are kindly reminded to bring their Macao SAR Resident identity cards and prepare their Macao Health Code in green before assembling at the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal.
Tour buses cleaned and disinfected thoroughly
Besides regularly cleaning the cabin facilities and exterior of tour buses, staffers also thoroughly disinfected all the bus cabins according to the pertinent guideline, to ensure a safe, clean and comfortable bus ride for all tour participants. Furthermore, the cabin facilities of maritime tour ferries are required to be cleaned and disinfected more scrupulously to meet the standard of pandemic prevention.
Strict compliance with pandemic prevention guidelines
Local tours under the “Stay, Dine and See Macao” project will be operated in strict compliance with the Health Bureau’s guidelines on pandemic prevention continuously, including the requirements to wear masks, have the temperature checked and present Macao Health Code, among other measures, whereas holders of Macao Health Code in Red or Yellow Colour are not allowed to participate in the local tours.
MGTO expressed that with public safety being safeguarded as the first and foremost priority, the Office hopes to carry out the “Stay, Dine and see Macao” project continuously until the end of December 2021 as planned, to sustain the livelihood of employees of tourism-related sectors to spur rises in domestic demand and spending in communities, in turn leading to further recovery of the tourism and related industries.
