Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) launched the “Macao Full of Fun – Smart Trip Planner” today (28 October), which incorporates more elements of community tourism and reorganizes the walking tour routes of "Step Out, Experience Macau's Communities". The smart trip planner enables users with different interests to plan their own trip itineraries for more enriched sightseeing experiences, with the aim to revitalize the community economy and push forward smart tourism development.
MGTO has progressively unfolded an array of smart tourism projects including the “Smart Trip Planner” website and the one-stop mobile application launched in the end of 2020, to offer a widely encompassing spectrum of tourism information for travelers, in parallel with the Macao Special Administrative Region Government’s strategies to build Macao into a smart city and the pertinent suggestions of the Macao Tourism Industry Development Master Plan.
“Macao Full of Fun” incorporates Distinctive Shops and check-in hotspots to revive community economy
On top of the existing functions of the “Smart Trip Planner” website, the brand-new “Macao Full of Fun” teems with diverse elements of community tourism such as information about Macao’s Distinctive Shops and cultural and creative shops, check-in hotspots as well as choices of leisure and entertainment. Users can tailor their own trip itineraries to suit their own interests for in-depth exploration of various local communities, which is expected to inject vitality into local communities and revive the community economy.
Four itineraries pre-designed for exploration of community gems to cater for various needs
The “Macao Full of Fun – Smart Trip Planner” also comes as a substitution and renewed integration of the walking tour routes of "Step Out, Experience Macau's Communities" available for the past years. Furthermore, to cater for those visitors without any specific interests or sightseeing goals during their trip planning, four walking tour routes are thoughtfully pre-designed on the “Macao Full of Fun” for visitors’ reference as follows: “World Heritage Tour in Central District”, “Art & Cultural Tour in St. Lazarus Parish”, “Portuguese Ambiance Tour at Taipa Island” and “Tranquility Tour in Coloane Village”. The designed tour routes will guide visitors to explore special tourist attractions in different districts and experience the local aroma of Macao.

MGTO will continue to evaluate its direction of smart tourism development and probe into different new technologies applicable to tourism, to map out greater plans for future tourism development while enriching the diversity of Macao’s “tourism +” elements to expand the diversity of visitor sources and attract travelers from different market segments to Macao.
