MGTO organizes “Safe & Quality Destination.Glamourous Macao” Travel Roadshow in Shenzhen Spotlighting final mega events of 2021 to draw visitors from Greater Bay Area

MGTO and IPIM promote Macao’s tourism and MICE opportunities to Shenzhen’s trade

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) presents the “Safe & Quality Destination.Glamourous Macao” Travel Roadshow on 6 and 7 November to promote upcoming community activities and final mega events of the year, including the 68th Macau Grand Prix, Macao Light Festival 2021, and Light up Macao Drone Gala. The Roadshow features themed showcase zones, stage performances and many interactive games to immerse Shenzhen residents in Macao’s great festive ambience and glamour as a safe and quality destination, to draw more Mainland visitors to Macao for tourism and economic revival.

MGTO partners with Lvmama.com, an all-encompassing travel website from the Mainland, to present the “Safe & Quality Destination.Glamourous Macao” Travel Roadshow unveiled with an opening ceremony today (6 November). Deputy Director of MGTO, Cheng Wai Tong, Second-level Consultant of Tourism Promotion Division of the Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, Zhang Yiyou, and CEO of Lvmama.com, Zou Qingling, attended the opening ceremony together with other guests.

Themed showcase zones manifest Macao’s glamour of “tourism +”

The “Safe & Quality Destination.Glamourous Macao” Travel Roadshow in Shenzhen weaves together the array of mega events and community tourism activities to be held in Macao in November and December by setting up various themed showcase zones such as “Macau Grand Prix”, “Macau Food Festival”, “Macao International Marathon”, “Macao Light Festival” and “Light up Macao Drone Gala”, to manifest Macao’s diverse offer of “tourism +” and enable Shenzhen residents to experience Macao’s unique charm of mega events.

Macao Tourism Mascot MAK MAK delivers dance performance at the main stage according to schedule and interacts with Shenzhen residents for photo opportunities. There are also workshops on site for spectators to experience painting and other DIY crafts themed around Macao and experience the destination from different angles.

Shenzhen and Macao trade jointly promote “tourism + MICE” development

Seizing the valuable opportunity brought by staging the Travel Roadshow in Shenzhen, MGTO joined hands with the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) to organize a Macao tourism and MICE presentation seminar in the city on 5 November to present the strengths of Macao’s tourism and MICE industries to the trade there. Since early March 2021, the two offices have together rolled out in-person promotions for tourism and MICE in different cities such as Guangzhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Zhaoqing and Huizhou across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area successively.

At the seminar, MGTO introduced Macao’s latest tourism development and endeavors to revive its tourism market, besides promoting Macao Highlight Tours, “Macao Full of Fun – Smart Trip Planner” as well as Macao’s diverse tourism resources and products for industry partners of the city to know more about Macao’s diverse offer of travel experiences. In addition, IPIM presented Macao’s advantages in the MICE industry and encouraged MICE organizers to hold related activities in Macao. The seminar also featured business matching and networking on site, facilitating exchange and cooperation between related industry operators from Macao and Shenzhen. The seminar engaged over 100 travel and MICE industry delegates and media of Shenzhen.

Abundant special offers for first-hand experience of Macao

While the Roadshow is staged, MGTO and Lvmama.com are jointly offering Macao hotel packages and discounted tickets to travel attractions in Macao, allowing Shenzhen residents to enjoy special offers for their future visits to Macao and first-hand experience of Macao’s events and festivals.

Strict compliance with pandemic prevention guidelines

During the Travel Roadshow, the units involved rigorously follow the COVID-19 prevention guidelines issued by Shenzhen’s public health authorities and make appropriate arrangements for the activities to support pandemic prevention while all participants must adhere to the arrangements for pandemic prevention. At the same time, visitors are advised to complete the formalities for entry and pandemic prevention before visiting Macao and adhere to pandemic prevention guidelines issued by the Macao SAR Government during their stay.
