The “2021 Guangdong and Macao Branded Products Fair” (2021GMBPF), jointly organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, will be held at Hall D of The Venetian Macao from 26 to 28 November. Under the theme of “smart life”, the 2021GMBPF will integrate online and offline exhibitions, combine shopping, exhibition, leisure and entertainment to promote trade and cultural exchange. Admission to the three-day fair is free and the public is welcome to visit.
Focusing on branded products from Macao, Guangdong and the Belt and Road countries with technological elements added
Covering an exhibition area of 9,000 square metres, the 2021GMBPF has nearly 400 booths, and in addition to the existing exhibition areas such as the “Macao Featured Products Area”, the “Guangdong Branded Products Area” and the “‘Belt and Road’ Exhibition Zone”, a “Smart Life Area” is added in line with the rapid technological development of the era, for the sale of a diverse array of branded products ranging from home appliances, technological innovation, cultural and creative products, food, tourism products, daily necessities, and jewellery.
This year’s Fair has attracted a total of 351 exhibitors, including 174 enterprises in the Macao exhibition area, 150 enterprises in the Guangdong exhibition area and 27 enterprises in the “Belt and Road” Exhibition Zone and other exhibition areas, among which the number of enterprises participating in the categories of technological innovation and home appliances increases by about 80% compared with last year.
Deepening B2B business matching and building an online exchange platform
The 2021GMBPF has further enhanced online elements, including the introduction of online exhibitions with real-time display functions for exhibits. Online business matching services will be available for 14 days from 15 to 28 November for exhibitors to establish business contacts with potential partners in advance. An offline business matching area will also be available for buyers from Guangdong and Macao to participate in several themed business matching sessions and promotion seminars of Portuguese-speaking countries that focus on smart life, household products, office necessities, food, and products from Portuguese-speaking countries. The 2021GMBPF Guided Tour for Guangdong and Macao enterprises will be organised for representatives of enterprises from Guangdong and Macao to gain more understanding of different brands and explore more business opportunities.
Feeling the charm of branded products in a diverse range of activities
A fabulous array of activities will be available during the 2021GMBPF, including free cooking workshops, lucky draws, tourism products and food mystery boxes, and guided tours. Influencers and famous broadcasters from Macao and Guangdong will livestream their visits to different exhibition areas, select and introduce the must-buy, must-eat, must-play and must-see branded products and highlights of the Fair. Multiple electronic payment methods will be available for visitors to choose from, allowing them to enjoy a rewarding shopping experience.
Exhibition construction provides internship opportunities to the trainees
To help local residents put what they have learned into use, trainees who have completed the Training Course for Exhibition Construction Technicians in Macao are given priority to be hired for the exhibition construction of the Fair. Practitioners from the tourism industry are also employed for the reception and consultation sessions of the Fair to allow them to put their professional skills into practice.
Thorough epidemic prevention and control measures, and free shuttle bus services
To ensure the safety of participants, a series of epidemic prevention and control measures will be taken, including requiring all exhibitors and staff to be vaccinated or present a negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test result certificate issued within 7 days, adopting disinfection measures, crowd management and on-site hygiene guidelines, and requiring all participants entering the venue to undergo body temperature checks, present their health code and wear a mask.
To encourage the use of public transport and support green commuting, sixfree shuttle bus routes to and from the event venue will be available in Macao and Taipa. Free parking is also available at Cotai Expo Hall E of The Venetian Macao on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited availability.
