With the relatively stable pandemic situation in Macao, several governmental entities from Macao will once again pour concerted efforts with local enterprises and commerce associations to unfold a physical event for destination promotion in the Mainland — the “Macao Week in Chongqing” will stage a mega roadshow from 2 – 6 December in tandem with a presentation seminar, gastronomic promotion and more highlights to spotlight Macao as a safe and charming destination radiant with the diverse dynamic of “tourism +” to members of the trade and residents in Chongqing. The event is organized to attract Mainland visitors to spend more and enjoy vacations in Macao, propelling tourism and the economy towards a brighter outlook.
Mega roadshow manifests Macao’s “tourism +” glamour
The “Macao Week in Chongqing” will mark the fifth event of its kind held in the Mainland this yearfollowing the previous ones held in Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai and Chengdu. As one of the major highlights in the Macao Week in Chongqing, a mega roadshow will be unveiled on 3 December. The event will liven up the Jiefangbei Square at Yuzhong District in Chongqing from 2 – 6 December for five consecutive days to showcase Macao’s colorful dimensions of tourism, trade and commerce, culture and creativity, sports, entertainment and more. There will be an array of zones/booths themed as follows: overview about Macao and its gastronomy, festivals and events; MAK MAK Shop; Macao Good Shop; Macao’s sport events; “A glimpse into Macao Grand Prix Museum”; Macao’s tourism products for sale; trade, commerce and economy of Macao; an informative display from Economic and Technological Development Bureau, as well as a showcase of Macao’s tourism industry presented by pertinent integrated tourism enterprises and airline company. There will be a tourist information counter offering Macao travel tips on site.
During the roadshow, Chongqing residents and visitors can enjoy mesmerizing performances at the main stage on schedule such as performances by singers from Macao, Dragon Dance, Lion Dance, light dance show and pop dance show that exudes modernity. Macao Tourism Mascot “MAK MAK” will present vigorous performance with the original song “Soar with MAK MAK” from Macao. Arranged by the six major integrated tourism enterprises, more distinctive dance and singing performances will enliven the roadshow and convey Macao’s warm hospitality.
Abundant travel offers + diverse promotional channels
The event will present over RMB-100-million special travel offers on air tickets, hotel accommodation, dining and more for sale at the roadshow and relevant platforms.There will be check-in points for wedding and travel photography at the roadshow, as well as a showcase of related tour products as fresh travel experiences to offer. The organizer also rolls out an extensive promotional campaign for the Macao Week in Chongqing, not only through online and offline platforms but also engaging different KOLs for their wide influence in the Mainland.

Acclaimed Macanese & Portuguese cuisine comes back into the limelight
The Macao Week in Chongqingwill once again offer signature Macanese and Portuguese buffets which have won great applause in the past Macao Weeks. A gastronomic promotion will be jointly rolled out by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO),the Westin Chongqing Liberation Squareand Macau Cuisine Association from 3 – 16 December, to bring into the limelight Macao’s unique gastronomic brand – Macanese and Portuguese cuisine, radiate Macao’s glamour as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, and promote the essence of Macao’s gastronomic culture.
Connect with travel trade in Chongqing at presentation seminar
Riding on the Macao Week in Chongqing, MGTO will hold a presentation seminar on 2 December to present an overview of Macao’s latest tourism situation and promote Macao’s tourism resources and products to the tourism authorities, travel trade delegates as well as media in Chongqing.
Strict compliance with pandemic prevention guidelines
During the Macao Week in Chongqing, the units involved will rigorously follow the COVID-19 prevention guidelines issued by the city’s public health authorities and make appropriate arrangements for the activities to support pandemic prevention while all participants must adhere to the arrangements for pandemic prevention. At the same time, visitors are advised to complete the formalities for entry and pandemic prevention before visiting Macao and adhere to pandemic prevention guidelines issued by the Macao SAR Government during their stay.
