Cultural Affairs Bureau launches online virtual exhibitions to promote digitalisation of museum resources and enrich cultural experiences

Please scan the QR code or directly log in to the website (vr.icm.gov.mo) to enjoy the virtual exhibitions online

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) continues to promote the use of digital museum resources. Following the provision of virtual tours of the Macao Museum and the Macao Museum of Art, four museums under the auspices of the IC, including the Macanese Living Museum of Taipa Houses, the Museum of Taipa and Coloane History, the Xian Xinghai Memorial Museum and the Heritage Exhibition of a Traditional Pawnshop Business, offer online virtual exhibitions, allowing the public to enjoy a 360-degree “cloud tour”.

The online virtual tours of the four museums (IE browser does not support this function) provide museum introductions in traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, Portuguese and English. The public may scan a specific QR code or visit the Online Virtual Tours (VR) website of IC via computers or mobile devices to enjoy the exhibitions in a 360-degree panoramic view by clicking on the mouse or tapping the screen. Visitors may browse the high-definition photos of the exhibits and read the respective descriptions, to fully enjoy the exhibitions by clicking the location of the displays.

IC will continue to actively promote the integration of museum resources with technology, also continuing to investigate the addition of online navigation functions for other cultural venues and museums, in order to enhance the cultural promotion and educational content of the museums in Macao, and provide a richer, more diverse and interesting cultural experience to residents and tourists.
