IPIM joins hands with Macao enterprises to promote Macao products and services during the “Macao Week in Chongqing”

The “Macao Week in Chongqing” mega roadshow will be staged at Jiefangbei Square, Chongqing from 2 (tomorrow) to 6 December. The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has organised 24 local enterprises, including those engaged in made-in-Macao products, Macao brands and local agents of Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSCs)’ products, to participate in the five-day event to display and promote featured products from Macao and PSCs. A commerce, trade and investment presentation session will also be held during the event to bring together the MICE, economic and trade resources of both regions, help enterprises explore business opportunities and promote Macao as a safe and healthy destination for travel and commerce, thereby attracting more mainland visitors to Macao to stimulate the local economy.

Showcasing Macao’s various economic and trade resources across four exhibition areas

The “Macao Week in Chongqing” is the fifth pole of the “Macao Week” series event following Hangzhou, Jiangsu, Shanghai and Chengdu. In order to introduce the diverse glamour of Macao to local participants, IPIM will once again set up the “MinM, Macao Brands and Portuguese-speaking Countries Products Sale Zone”, “MinM and Macao Brands Exhibition Zone” and “Portuguese-speaking Countries Exhibition Zone”, and join hands with 24 Macao enterprises to promote products from Macao and PSCs, such as pastry souvenirs, garments, wine and other liquors, canned food, coffee and medical supplies, thereby introducing the dazzling diversity of Macao’s featured products to local participants.

The “MinM and Macao Brands Exhibition Zone” will intensify the promotion of products certified by the “Macao Product Quality Certification Scheme” (M-Mark). In the “Portuguese-speaking Countries Exhibition Zone”, signature products from eight PSCs, including handicrafts, food and coffee, will be displayed once again to highlight Macao’s function as a Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and PSCs.

Macao and Chongqing jointly showing economic and trade resources of Macao, Intensive Co-operation Zone and PSCs

During the “Macao Week in Chongqing”, IPIM will join hands with the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce to hold the “Chongqing-Macao-PSCs MICE, Commerce, Trade and Investment Presentation Session” on the morning of 3 December to introduce participants to the business environment and MICE latest developments in Macao as well as the economic and trade information of the Intensive Co-operation Zone and PSCs, and to provide a platform to facilitate co-operation among businesspeople from the two regions and their market expansion.

Answering enquiries related to investment and event organisation through video calls

IPIM will set up exhibition booths at the venue to provide information about the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Co-operation Zone in Hengqin, “One-stop Service” for MICE Bidding and Support in Macao, Investor’s “One-stop Service”, and China-PSCs commercial and trade services. With consultation services offered via video calls, participants can gain an instant understanding of the information about holding events or making investments in Macao.

Publicising quality Macao brands with abundant promotions

During the roadshow, discount coupons and small gifts from Macao and PSCs will be offered in the form of blind boxes and toy capsules. A number of Internet influencers have also been invited to collaboratively promote products online in a bid to stimulate netizens’ sharing across social platforms and boost the spending at the exhibition zones, drawing more attention to Made-in-Macao products, Macao brands and PSCs’ products.

Stimulating taste buds with Macao flavours

To better tell the stories of Macao brands, IPIM will hold various food and wine tasting sessions under different themes to deepen local businesspeople and public visitors’ understanding of the products’ information and their brands’ stories while tasting quality wines and specialty food from Macao and PSCs.

Promoting PSCs’ culture through diverse activities

Several photo spots, such as the “Let’s Hang Out interactive photo-taking spots” and “popular slang wall”, will also be set up in the exhibition zones to promote PSCs’ culture in an interesting and lively manner. The mascots of “Let’s Hang Out” will also pop up during the roadshow, adding a Portuguese touch to the event.
