The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) is highly concerned about the positive results of unvaccinated elderly people in the citywide nucleic acid tests. As elderly people may be infected by their family members or caregivers even if they stay at home, IAS strongly urges those who have not yet been vaccinated to do so as soon as possible to protect their health and safety.
To make a COVID-19 vaccination appointment, please visit: https://eservice.ssm.gov.mo/covidvacbook/Booking?lang=en. According to the appointment system, the following vaccination sites are open on June 21: Health services (Macao Forum), 09:00 - 18:00; University Hospital, 09:00 - 17:30; and Workers’ Clinic of the Federation of Workers’ Associations of Macau (Tamagnini Barbosa), 09:00 - 19:00. The elderly can get vaccinated immediately after completing the nucleic acid test. Further nucleic acid tests should be conducted at least 24 hours after the vaccination to avoid false-positive results.
As at 9:00 pm on June 20, the rates of elderly people who had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by age group were as follows: 79.9% for those aged 60-69, 74.8% for those aged 70-79 and 50.4% for those aged 80 or above.
