IAM urges the public not to trespass on parks, gardens and other enclosed venues

IAM urges the public not to trespass on enclosed venues such as parks and gardens, otherwise they may be prosecuted.

To comply with the pandemic prevention work of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, venues such as the parks, gardens and leisure areas in the different districts of Macao managed by the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) were closed to the public since 19 June. IAM urges the public to comply with the pandemic prevention work and not to trespass on the enclosed venues, otherwise they will be prosecuted and punished.

Recently, IAM found that some members of the public have not obeyed the regulations and trespassed on the enclosed venues such as parks, gardens and leisure areas, and some even used abusive words on the management staff who persuaded them not to violate the regulations. In addition to affecting the pandemic prevention work, these infractions are also suspected to be violations of Article 185 of the “Penal Code” and are punishable by imprisonment of a maximum of three months or a maximum fine of 60 days. Meanwhile, such acts are also suspected to violate Clause 3 of Article 3 of the “General Regulations Governing Public Places” and Clause 12 of Article 1 of the “List of Infringements”, and are punishable by a fine of MOP300.

IAM has put up notices in the enclosed areas of public venues such as the different parks and gardens and stepped up patrols by staff. IAM again urges the public to comply with the pandemic prevention and control work of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and not to trespass on enclosed public venues, so as to accomplish the pandemic prevention and control work together.
