President Xi Jinping receives CE in Hong Kong, affirming work of MSAR Government

President Xi Jinping today received in Hong Kong the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), Mr Ho Iat Seng, saying the Central Government fully affirmed the work being done by Macao’s Chief Executive and by the MSAR Government.

Mr Ho was in Hong Kong for the events to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland.

In the meeting with Mr Ho, President Xi called on the MSAR Government to stand firm on the principle of pursuing progress while maintaining stability; apply unremitting effort in epidemic prevention and control work; persist in effective measures to ease the people’s difficulties; strive for economic recovery; resolutely press ahead with adequate economic diversification; and maximise effort to maintain social stability.

Mr Ho thanked the President for making time for the meeting. Mr Ho said he would spare no effort in all aspects of his work, and resolutely safeguard the sound development prospects of Macao.

The Director of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Mr Ding Xuexiang; and Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Xia Baolong, attended the meeting.
