Expansion of eligibility for Macao SAR Permanent Resident ID card renewal self-service

The Identification Services Bureau (DSI) continuously improves the self-service application for renewing Macao SAR Permanent Resident Identity Card. In order to facilitate the formalities for renewing identity cards for minors, starting from 13th April 2023, citizens can use self-service kiosks at three DSI’s offices (located at China Plaza in Avenida da Praia Grande, the Government Services Centre in Areia Preta and the Government Services Centre in Islands) to lodge the application for renewing Macao SAR Permanent Resident Identity Card for eligible underage children.

Holders of Macao SAR Permanent Resident Identity Cards who have reached the age of 5 on the latest issuance date of their identity card can renew their identity card using self-service kiosks as early as 6 months before it expires or at any time after its expiry. The minors’ parent or guardian who is holding a Macao resident identity card can lodge the application on behalf of the minors and is required to accompany the underage applicant throughout the application. They will need to follow the system instructions to go through the required procedures. In addition, the parent or guardian can authorize another person to collect the minors’ document.

DSI calls for eligible persons to use self-service kiosks in higher priority for lodging application. For details, please refer to DSI’s website ( www.dsi.gov.mo ). For enquiries, please call 2837-0777 or 2837-0888 or email to info@dsi.gov.mo.
