Encounter on 1 May – MGTO launches “‘Mak’ and Greet” to attract fans for destination promotion

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will launch the project “‘Mak’ and Greet” on 1 May. Macao Tourism Mascot MAK MAK will join tourism promotions in different outlooks. A new themed page will be dedicated to MAK MAK on social network to draw and engage more followers. The character of MAK MAK will be harnessed to bring out Macao’s unique colors and dynamic of cultural tourism for destination branding.

The image exudes warm hospitality

Macao Tourism Mascot MAK MAK shoulders the mission to promote Macao as a travel destination. Through its image that conveys warm hospitality, MAK MAK plays an explorer that leads visitors onto a journey to explore Macao for the profound cultural encounter of the East and West.

With the launch of “‘Mak’ and Greet”, MGTO will arrange for MAK MAK to appear in different outlooks at tourism promotions, perform dancing in flash shows and interact with the public. The city can extend warm hospitality for visitors through MAK MAK’s interesting and multifaceted image.

MAK MAK’s themed page attracts fans

MGTO sets up a social themed page for MAK MAK to brand it as a charming and influential character, attracting more followers in different visitor markets, so that MAK MAK can actively carry out its mission to promote Macao.

MAK MAK’s themed page will feature a brief profile about MAK MAK, “‘Mak’ and Greet” calendar, MAK MAK-themed cultural and creative products, as well as the footprints of MAK MAK at work for fans to learn about the latest newsfeed about MAK MAK.

‘Mak’ and Greet” on 1 May

On 1 May, MAK MAK will meet and greet with the public in the Praia do Manduco Carnival at Largo do Pagode da Barra from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, as well as the Coloane Marques Market 2023 at Largo Eduardo Marques in Coloane from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about MAK MAK’s activity calendar, please visit MAK MAK’s themed page: https://www.macaotourism.gov.mo/en/article/content/mak-and-greet to be launched officially on 1 May.

Themed racing exhibition at Macao Grand Prix Museum

To promote the culture of the Macau Grand Prix, the Macao Grand Prix Museum and Macau Artist Society jointly organize the Racing Art Exhibition – “Speed”. In parallel with the Labor Day Holiday, some 30 artworks about car racing are displayed in the Macao Grand Prix Museum for museumgoers’ appreciation starting from today until 31 August.

The wax figures of eight internationally-renowned racing drivers have recently come into the spotlight at the Macao Grand Prix Museum. The drivers include John Macdonald, Ron Haslam, Ayrton Senna, Michael Rutter, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Robert Huff and Edoardo Mortara. With also the multimedia interactive features and other exhibits which manifest the city’s colorful “tourism +”, the Museum sincerely invites residents and visitors for a first-hand experience on festive holidays.

Exhibited next to their racing cars, the eight lively statues reflect the glamour of these drivers in racing outfits. The exquisite waxworks of the globally prestigious brand Madame Tussauds vividly capture the demeanor of the motor racers. Specially open on 2 May

Normally closed on Tuesdays, the Museum will be open on 2 May as a special arrangement for the Labor Day holiday. There will be a 1st May Golden Week special offer at the gift shop from 1 – 14 May. Some of its commodities are on special sale. Visitors are welcome to visit the Museum and gift shop.
