[Promoting the development of high technology] Macao and Hengqin enterprises make their debut at the 9th CSITF

IPIM will set up a “Macao Pavilion” in the exhibition hall of “The 9th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair”

“The 9th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair” (CSITF) will be held from 15 to 17 June at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. Macao SAR attended the fair for the first time as the guest city, taking the valuable opportunity and coordinating with the “1+4” moderate diversification strategy, so as to better promote the development of the four key industries with a focus on the high technology sector.

IPIM organised nearly 40 entrepreneurs of Macao and Hengqin to attend the event. At the same time, with the assistance and recommendation of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund and the Economic Development Bureau of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, 9 Macao-Hengqin innovative technology enterprises participated in the event, with a view to exploring a wider scope of cooperation.

The CSITF is co-organised by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State Intellectual Property Office and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. With the core concept of “Better Technology, Better Life” and the theme of “Innovation-driven Development, Intellectual Property Protection, Technology Trade Promotion”, the fair aims to promote the development of technology trade by integrating the strengths of science and technology and innovative achievements at home and abroad.

The “1+1>2” synergy effect of Macao and Hengqin

At the 9th CSITF, IPIM will set up a 195-square-metre “Macao Pavilion” with the theme of “Building a Science and Innovation Ecology”. Nine Macao-Hengqin exhibitors will showcase a wide range of technological innovation products and services to visitors from all over the world, including settings of creating a smart city and optimising the e-business system of enterprises, chip design services and multi-sensor fusion machine products.

The Macao Pavilion will feature multimedia equipment to introduce Macao’s technological innovation environment, as well as video consultation services, including the “Investor’s One Stop Service” and the“‘One-stop Service’ for MICE Bidding and Support” of IPIM. The Pavilion also includes a setting to introduce the development profile and preferential policies of the four major industries in Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, bringing into highlight the “1+1>2” synergy effect of Macao and Hengqin.

Cross-sectoral integration of “MICE + Industry” to find new momentum for high-tech development

To deepen the cross-sectoral integration of MICE+industry, IPIM will organise the “ ‘Sharing Opportunities, Building New Technologies’ Macao Science and Technology Investment Promotion Conference” on 15 June, the theme day of CSITF for guest city. The event will invite Macao and Shanghai technology enterprises or institutions as keynote speakers and panelists, and arrange business matching sessions to assist Macao-Hengqin and East China technology enterprises or institutions to meet and discuss with each other, so as to help innovative technology enterprises grasp the development opportunities across the Mainland and promote the construction and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, as well as attracting more innovative technology enterprises to settle in Macao-Hengqin, bringing more impetus to the development of high-tech industries and further promoting the moderate diversification of Macao’s economy.
