Possible warning signals to be issued due to the impact on "Talim"

Tropical storm "Talim" is located about 620 kilometers southeast of Macao and is expected to move northwest slowly, generally towards the area between the west coast of Guangdong and Hainan Island.

It is expected that "Talim" will further strengthen and gradually approach the west coast of Guangdong tomorrow (16th), Macao will experience heavy rain and thunderstorms tomorrow, and the local winds will increase generally to a wind level scale of 6-7 in the evening. According to the current predicted path, "Talim" will be closest to Macao on the morning of the 17th, passing by about 200 kilometers south of Macao, SMG will consider the possibility of issuing higher tropical cyclone signals owning to its development.

Meanwhile, under the joint effect of storm surge and astronomical tide, flooding might occur in the Inner Harbour area with flooding levels between 0.3 to 0.7m on 17th and 18th July. The public is advised to pay attention to the latest weather information.

Public can learn the possibility of being affected by the tropical cyclone over the specific period of time in Macao so that necessary precautions can be well prepared earlier.
