Severe tropical storm "Talim" is located at about 260 kilometers south of Macao and is expected to move in direction of west-northwest, towards the west coast of Guangdong. According to the current forecast track, "Talim" will be closest Macao, about 200 kilometers south of Macao, between early morning and the morning of the 17th. Since "Talim" is expected to intensify, the associated zone of gale wind will cover the Pearl River Delta area for a period of time. As a result, the possibility of issuing the signal No.8 will be relatively high.
Under the joint effect of storm surge and astronomical tide, flooding might occur within the Inner Harbour area with flooding levels between 0.4 to 0.8m on the early morning on 17th and 18th of July respectively. The public is advised to pay attention to the latest weather information.
