The Macao Grand Prix Museum (the “Museum”) under the management of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will launch a series of special activities and arrangements in tandem with the arrival of the 70th Macau Grand Prix next month. The highlights include a brand-new mapping show, a retrospective video that captures the Macau Grand Prix’s extraordinary highlights, a special exhibition on an internationally-leading racing team, virtual reality feature, extension of opening hours and special discount for ticket purchase on site, among others. These are rolled out to let residents and visitors experience the vibes of the racing month in celebration of the platinum jubilee of the Macau Grand Prix, while deepening integration of “tourism + sports” and enriching the kaleidoscope of travel experiences.
Daily mapping show in November
Every night of November, a brand-new mapping show will be projected upon the exterior wall of the Macao Grand Prix Museum, namely the Mapping show of “Macao Grand Prix Museum Chronicles: 70 Legendary Years”. The around-five-minute show will take place every 15 minutes between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. every night from 1 – 30 November, to kindle greater vibes of the event and offer another choice of nighttime entertainment.
Spectacular historic moments of the races in one video
The Museum has specially produced a video known as “70 Legendary Years of Macau Grand Prix”. About four to five minutes long, the video captures the remarkable and memorable moments of the Macau Grand Prix over the past few decades, including the transformation of Guia Circuit, the fierce competition among racers from worldwide, the moving moments of racing teams and the ardor of spectators. The video will be played at the Screening Room of the Museum from 1 November onwards.
VR360o replay of spectacular race
The Museum will launch a brand-new virtual reality (VR) experience for race replay VR 360°. Visitors can put on the VR headsets at the Museum for a replay of the Macau Touring Car Cup – China Touring Car Championship in the Macau Grand Prix in 2022. The VR feature enables a multi-dimensional, immersive experience of the thrilling race as though on the circuit.
Globally-leading racing team “Oracle Red Bull Racing” Special Exhibition
“Oracle Red Bull Racing” Special Exhibition will be held at the basement of the Museum from 27 October to 19 November to showcase the history of “Oracle Red Bull Racing”, the gear and equipment of F1 drivers as well as the racing team’s promotional video. MGTO also supports another concurrent flash activity “Red Bull Pit Stop Challenge” (swiftness challenge of changing tires) at Galaxy MacauTM to extend and radiate the destination appeal enhanced by sports events.
Extend Museum opening hours on race days
The Museum will extend its opening hours until 9:30 p.m. (ticketing until 9 p.m.) on 11, 12, 16, 17, 18 and 19 November, on the six race days of the 70th Macau Grand Prix. During the extended opening hours, two sessions of public guided tour services will be added as follows: 6:30 p.m. (English) and 7:30 (Mandarin), along with two extra movie screenings at the Screening Room at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Special ticket discount in celebration
The Museum will launch two ticket discount offers on site from 1 November 2023 onwards, including partnering with Visa HK once again to offer a special discount for credit card users (1 November – 31 December 2023). The other ticket discount (1 November 2023 – 31 December 2024) will be launched in partnership with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and ICBC Macau for users of ICBC UnionPay Platinum Card (known as “ICBC Fashion Macau Credit Card”, Mainland and Macao versions). By using any of the aforementioned credit cards, users can enjoy 10% off on purchase of admission tickets (applicable to standard and concessionary tickets) at the ticketing station. The discount offer cannot be used together with other special offers.
