IFTM Lecturer serves as Expert Lead for WorldSkills Bakery-47 Project

The 47th WorldSkills Competition will take place in Lyon, France from 10 to 15 September 2024. Labour Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR will lead a delegation to participate. The WorldSkills Organisation recently invited Mr. David Charles Wiley Jr., lecturer at the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM), to serve as the Expert Lead for the Bakery-47 project in the competition.

The position of the Expert Lead is crucial in providing guidance, management, and supervision to the team of experts throughout the WorldSkills Competition, guaranteeing the smooth flow of events and precise evaluations.

Mr. David Charles Wiley Jr. has been an expert in the Bakery project since the 45th WorldSkills Competition in 2019. In this role, he has provided training to participants and guided them to achieve outstanding outcomes in the competition. He has regularly demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the competition. The WorldSkills Organisation has acknowledged his professional expertise by appointing him as the Expert Lead for the Bakery project.

IFTM provides comprehensive training in five specific skill areas for participants of the WorldSkills Competition. These areas are Bakery, Confectionery/Patisserie, Restaurant Service, Cooking (Western), and Hotel Reception. IFTM is currently in full force preparing for the WorldSkills Competition.

IFTM commends Mr. David Charles Wiley Jr. for his notable professional achievement and anticipates the valuable contributions of all Macao professionals and participants in attaining exceptional outcomes at the 2024 WorldSkills Competition.
