IAM to hold a themed flower show to celebrate Macao’s return and add floral arrangements in various districts

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will hold a themed flower show in Avenida da Praia, Taipa, from 14 December 2024 to 5 January 2025, with festive flower beds placed across Macao for members of the public to enjoy and experience the festive atmosphere.

With “Melody of Return” as the theme and auspicious decorative patterns as the main element, the flower show will showcase the gorgeous theme flowers Dahlia in various colours, creating visual tension in the company of other varieties of flowers.

Six check-in spots and multiple exquisite flower scenes are artfully set up in the venue, assembling a piece of music from prelude to climax that adds rhythmic layers to the flower show experience. The ancient lotus boat landscape not only symbolises the origin of Macao’s coastal trade, but also represents the city’s deep roots in Chinese culture. The lotus in the show area, with their meaning of purity and hope, brings a touch of elegance to the entire celebration.

In addition, the looping installation and the musical symbols throughout the venue imply Macao’s unique cultural and artistic atmosphere. Finally, the flowers representing musical movements and melodies gather from all directions to the main plaza of the flower show and form a “golden melody of return” on the arch, as well as flourishing masses of flowers in front. This exquisite scenery and the splendour of Dahlia accentuate each other, highlighting the charm of multiculturalism in Macao.

In addition to the flower show venue in Avenida da Praia, Taipa, festive flower beds will be placed across Macao to beautify various areas and allow the public to indulge in the joy of the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland.
