Results of the Gaming Sector Survey for 2004


Information from the first survey on the Gaming Sector conducted by Statistics and Census Service indicated that 8 enterprises were granted concession to operate in the gaming sector in 2004. Total receipts amounted to MOP 44.07 billion and total expenditure reached MOP 22.85 billion. Gross value added and gross fixed capital formation accounted for MOP 23.51 billion and MOP 3.11 billion respectively. Among the total receipts of MOP 44.07 billion, receipts from gaming services shared 99.0% of the total, with MOP 43.63 billion; interest and other receipts contributed 433 million. Total expenditure of the gaming sector amounted to MOP 22.85 billion, of which purchase of goods and commission paid took up MOP 16.24 billion (71.1% of the total); operating expenses and compensation of employees accounted for MOP 4.33 billion and MOP 1.91 billion respectively.
