The 11th MIF closes today


The 11th Macao International Trade & Investment Fair (MIF),which was approved by UFI, closed today. This year’s MIF and “The 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the Forum for Economic and Trading Exchanging & Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” allows Macao to fully demonstrate its function as a service platform to promote the economic and trading exchange and cooperation between China and Portuguese – speaking countries. There are over 140 delegations from 47 countries and regions took part in this year’s MIF. Over 60,000 visitors attend this event. Comparing the 10th MIF, the professional enterprises has increased 50% in 2006. There are 502 pairs of business matching and buyers’ meetings held in 11th MIF with 80 percentage of incensement comparing 274 of statistical data in 2005. 22 documents were signed during these four days, inclusive of 2 contracts, 6 letters of intent, 11 agreements and 3 memorandums by local and overseas entrepreneurs. Those documents relate to Trading Promotion, Financial Service, Industrial Base Development, Building Materials, Commercial Streets, Exhibition & Convention Industry, Jewry Exhibition, Stars Hotel Development, Forest Industry and Commissioned Sales Service. The countries and regions which signed the documents are from China (Beijing, Harbin, Dalian, Shanghai, Fujian, Jieyang, Chaozhou, Hong Kong and Macao), Portugal, Giness-Bissau, Angola, Syria and Australia and it deals with 300 million patacas totally (Data collections still continue) for those documents. Comparing last year’s 273 million patacas, the 11th MIF has got a big leap in 2006.
