The Port Authority said in a statement today that the reported new ferry route between Tuen Mun and Macau has not yet received government approval. The statement was issued in the wake of media reports that Hong Kong North West Express would launch ferry services between Tuen Mun and Macao in September. The statement said the company has applied for permission to introduce the route: the Macao Government had asked for and was waiting for further information to enable it to study and evaluate the application. The Macao Government is still awaiting such information and until such time, the application could not be evaluated, the statement said.
