Government to merge two advisory councils


Macao SAR Government would soon merge the Economic Council and the Human Resources Development Council so they can work more efficiently on enhanced diagnosis of Macao's economic issues, the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Mr Francis Tam Pak Yuen, said today. The Chief Executive, Mr Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chaired the two councils' joint meeting, at which the Director of the Research Centre for Sustainable Development Strategies, Dr Tse Chi Wai, addressed the attendees on the current and future development of Macao's economy. Speaking to the press after the meeting, the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Mr Francis Tam Pak Yuen, said the two councils would be merged soon, to concentrate the Government's resources on the analyses of different issues and policies, especially on the issue of human resources.
