The 2010 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Exhibition and Forum (2010MIECF) has attracted 351 companies and organisations from all over the world, a 40% increase over last year. The Organisers expect that the MIECF will bring significant business opportunities to the exhibitors. This year´s edition of the MIECF will be held from 8 to 10 April at the Venetian-Macao-Resort. This year, the area of the venue has been enlarged by 10%, to 13,465 square metres. According to the latest information, there will be approximately a 40% increase in the number of participating companies and organisations. Also, the number of participating countries and regions has increased to 25, from last year´s 19. At the exhibition venue, there will be several themed areas, including the Macao Pavillion, the Pan-PRD Exhibition Area, the European Pavilion, the Macao Environmental Protection and Energy Saving Industry Exhibition Area, the Low-Carbon Lifestyle Pavilion, Mainland China and International Environmental Protection Enterprises Exhibition Area and China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association Exhibition Area. In addition, representatives from the United States of America, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Belgium, Italy, Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Poland, Romania, Australia, Israel, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, Shanghai, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Jiangmen will set-up exhibition booths, to feature respective advanced environmental products, equipments, technology and market. Participating exhibitors include international renowned enterprises such as EDP, Lamor, Mitsubishi Chemical, YIngli Group, Hyflux, STSE, Nam Kwong Group and The Venetian Macao. Other well-known exhibitors include GE Water Business Group and Neo-Neon Holdings Limited. The exhibition will feature advanced environmental protection products and services, covering areas such as green building and smart city, integrated waste management system, renewable energy, photovoltaic and solar energy, low-carbon technologies, 3R green quality control, electric cars, electric motorcycles, decontamination equipment, LED energy saving lights, among others. The Organiser expects that this year´s MIECF will not only continue to promote Macao as a platform for international cooperation in the area of environmental protection, but will also introduce to Macao advanced environmental technologies to accelerate the development of the local environmental industry and radiate such advanced technologies to the neighbouring PRD region, so as to further develop the cooperation in environmental protection industry between Macao, Mainland China and the Portuguese-Speaking Countries. Business Matching to facilitate commercial cooperation Moreover, in order to enable exhibitors and participants to make full use of Macao´s business service platform, the Organisers will continue to offer green business matching services, having organised several business matching sessions, in order to assist Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises to develop new markets and find suitable business partners. Last year´s green business matching has achieved brilliant results, having contributed to the materialization of over 360 business negotiations, resulting in the signing of 20 co-operation projects, amounting to over 2.5 billion Patacas. The Organisers have so far received 470 sales agency and investment projects, related to environmental protection, having up to now pre-arranged more than 320 business matching sessions, principally from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Finland, Portugal and other countries, related to solar electricity generation, wind power generation, sewage disposal, electric cars and energy-saving products.
