Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) called for an urgent meeting with representatives of the hotel industry this afternoon (25 August) to inform local hotels about the official request made to local travel agencies for suspension of tour group arrangements. Representatives of the hotel industry expressed their support to the decision, agreeing that it is the Government’s top priority to handle the restoration work for the city after the catastrophe.
During the meeting, hotel representatives expressed the situation and concerns after the typhoon. MGTO will form a task force with hotels and travel agencies to discuss the subsequent tasks and related issues following the suspension of tour group arrangements to Macao.
In addition, both ferry companies in Macao will coordinate with the decision about tour group suspension.
