IPIM joins hands with the MICE Industry to promote Macao´s MICE industry
IPIM set up a “Macao Pavilion” covering an area of 168 square metres at the venue of CIBTM 2017, to highlight the theme “Macao – Your Business Events Destination”. Promotion counters were set up inside the Macao Pavilion, to provide display platforms for Macao´s hotels, travel agents, professional event organisers, destination management companies and conference service providers. Over 500 business-matching sessions were arranged and received enthusiastic responses.
IPIM also organised promotional activities during the event, with the participation of over 80 guests, including Macao´s convention and exhibition enterprises participating as exhibitors at the CIBTM 2017, and Mainland China ‘s convention and exhibition service providers and company representatives, as a means to intensify exchanges and co-operation. At the venue, IPIM´s Executive Director, Irene V. K. Lau promoted Macao´s MICE Industry and the “One-Stop Service” for MICE Bidding and Support in Macao, aiming to attract a larger number of conventions and exhibitions to be held in Macao.
Exhibitors agree that the activities will help them in business development
One of the participants, Mr. Shi, from the convention and exhibition sector, said that he hopes that participation in this year’s CIBTM will enable him to get in touch with MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) related operators, to develop business co-operation. Another participant, Miss Lei, from the hotel industry, believes that this CIBTM will be very useful for business development, as far as her company is concerned, given that the event has gathered businesspeople from MICE-related industries, and will, therefore, enable companies intending to hold conventions/activities in Macao to be aware of the scope of services provided by her company.
