To complement the national “One Belt One Road” strategy and under the premise of implementing strict control on irregular transit, the Public Security Police Force today (1 July 2015) adjusted the transit measures for People’s Republic of China (PRC) Passport holders. PRC passport holders are required to have a valid visa issued by the country or region of destination before entering Macao (except those who are granted visa-free access or visa-on-arrival); in addition established examination measures like air ticket checking may be implemented. PRC passport holders who enter Macao directly from an oversea country, or travelled to an oversea country through Macau International Airport after their last arrival in Macao, or did not enter Macao at least within the past 30 days, are allowed to stay in Macao in transit for 7 days (for the first time). PRC passport holders violating the transit regulation (who did not travel to an oversea country through Macau International Airport after arrival in Macao, or had overstayed in Macao and paid the fine) are allowed to stay in Macao in transit for 2 days only upon their second arrival in Macao within 30 days. PRC passport holders violating the transit regulation again are refused entry upon their arrival in Macao within 30 days.
