Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that both the unemployment rate (1.7%) and the underemployment rate (0.3%) for February-April 2015 remained at record low. Total labour force was 405,800 and the labour force participation rate stood at 74.0%. Total employment decreased slightly by 500 from January-March 2015, at 399,000. Analysed by industry, employment in Restaurants & Similar Activities and Real Estate & Business Activities saw decrease, while that in Construction registered an increase. Number of the unemployed was 6,700, down slightly by 100 from January-March 2015; fresh labour force entrants searching for their first job accounted for 5.7% of the total unemployed, down by 0.8 percentage points. In comparison with February-April 2014, the labour force participation rate increased by 0.4 percentage points; the unemployment rate stayed unchanged, while the underemployment rate decreased by 0.1 percentage point.
