Twelfth issue of C2

Published by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and produced by 100 Plus Cultural Creative Development Ltd., C2 has launched its latest issue on 7 December. As the development of all sorts of art, cultural and creative exhibitions is growing recently in Macao, this edition discusses how to make use of those art platforms to promote the artists’ works in the market. The casino industry has spared enormous efforts to promote the non-gaming projects in the past few years. This edition of “Feature” invites the Vice-president of Marketing and Communications of MGM Macau, Mr. Toby Leung, to share his expectations on the prime time of local art exhibitions in the next five years. Flugent Art Gallery has started its business only a year ago, and its aim is to assist in developing international markets for Macao artworks. Curator Mianco Wong from Hong Kong has conducted the “New Art Wave Expo” in Macao, which received a positive response. Some artworks by local artists were sold in the exhibition. Ms. Mianco Wong thinks that the Government should cooperate with the curating entities closely to enhance the development of local culture and art. “Chit-Chat” invites Wong Ka Long, a local sculptor, who has established a number of artworks in different public spaces in Macao, to share his experience of artistic creation and his perspectives on the recent development of the arts atmosphere. “Around the Globe” explores the trend on focusing in the transgender market in the western movie industry. “Extravaganza” invites the designers from the regions across the Strait, who participated in Macao Fashion Festival, to talk about the future development of the Macao fashion industry in the international market. “Blogs” columnists, Cheong Sio Pang, Rai Mutsu, Alvis Sio, Yi-Hsin Lin, SiSi Chang, Wong Cheng Pou and Rachel Mok are going to give more perspectives on the development of the cultural and creative industries.
