Parade through Macau photography contest captures its highlights

Photography aficionados capture the Parade’s best moments

The “Parade through Macau, Latin City”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), in celebration of the 16th anniversary of Macao’s handover to China and the 10th anniversary of the inscription of the Historic Centre of Macao on World Heritage List, takes place this year on Sunday, 6 December. In order to encourage citizens to actively participate in the city’s cultural events, the organizer offers a mutual exchange and learning platform to photography aficionados on this occasion. The Photography Contest “Parade through Macau, Latin City”, organized by IC and cooperated with the Easy Photography Association, is held and invites all citizens to participate and capture this event’s highlights. Under the theme “Parade through Macau, Latin City”, in celebration of the 16th anniversary of Macao’s handover to China, the Contest accepts works that feature scenes from the Parade, such as performances, artists and activities. The Contest includes two categories, Youth (citizens aged between 13 and 24) and Public (citizens aged 25 or above). Works must be uploaded on the webpage photoblog.ecpz.net/latincity, and each participant is allowed to upload 10 works in maximum. Applications are accepted until 26 December. Each category includes prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places as well for 10 merit awards. More information on the Contest and the respective regulation are available at the Cultural Affairs Bureau Building, the Easy Photography Association, the digital photos output stores Digital Chi Pak, Foto Digital Fantastic and Foto Digital Tin In, and can also be downloaded from the Easy Photography Association’s website (www.ecpz.net). In addition, in order to allow even more citizens to experience the Parade’s atmosphere, excerpts of the event are broadcast on local and Hong Kong TV channels, thereby increasing reputation of the Parade. TDM, Teledifusão de Macau S.A., will have the live broadcast of the entire event and the outdoor screens will be installed at several locations - Senado Square, Rotunda de Carlos da Maia, Areia Preta Garden and Rua de D. Belchior Carneiro. The popular TVB programme ‘Scoop’ will feature a foretaste of the event on 4 and 14 December, as well as a Parade Special Programme dedicated to the event’s highlights, to be broadcasted on 15 December. IC launches, from today onwards, an account on WeChat, offering citizens and tourists a more convenient means of accessing news on cultural and artistic events. Users can subscribe, through smart phones or tablet devices, in the WeChat by searching “ICmacao” or scanning the QR code. Through this platform, users can also participate in the Contest “Find the Treasure and be Eligible to Win Plane Tickets” by subscribing in the WeChat and completing the required tasks, which is open from today until 31 December. Participants will have a chance to win an Air Macau plane ticket for one person to a destination of their choice; two winners will be awarded only.
