IPIM Organised Procurement Networking and Exchange Meeting Again to Enhance the “Soft Power” of Local SMEs

The Procurement Networking and Exchange Meeting.

Following the “Business Gathering at Macao Ideas” held on 9 October, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) organised the procuring networking and exchange meeting again to assist local SMEs to further develop their overseas customer network. The event, held on the first day of the 11th International Hotel Expo, aims to assist local SMEs in promoting “Made in Macao” products, “Macao Brands”, “Macao Designs” and “Food Products from Portuguese-speaking Countries with distribution channels in Macao”. “Macao Ideas”- the Macao Products Display Centre, has been endeavouring to promote branded products made by local enterprises. Through the organisation of an array of activities, it aims to enhance the exposure and reputation of Macao´s products, as well as developing wider overseas customer network for local SMEs. The 11th International Hotel Expo was held from 25 to 27 November at the Convention and Exhibition Centre of the Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel. The event, targeting at the entire hotel industry chain, not only provided a “one-stop” procurement platform for the exhibitors and participants, but also served as a gathering platform for the operators of hotel and catering industries. In view of this, on the opening day of the 11th International Hotel Expo, IPIM organised a procurement networking and exchange meeting to provide “Macao Ideas” exhibitors an opportunity to display their products and present to the exhibitors and guests of the International Hotel Expo a great variety of goods, including coffee, crystal sculptures and decorative items, environmentally friendly products and food souvenirs. The opening ceremony and the networking event were attended by over 100 entrepreneurs and representatives of the hotel and catering industry and related business associations from Mainland China, Southeast Asian countries, Korea, Hong Kong and Macao. Furthermore, staff of “Macao Ideas” also arranged on-site business matching between “Macao Ideas” exhibitors and the participants of the 11th International Hotel Expo.
