Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) is attending the China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo 2015 in Guangzhou. Seizing the opportunity to deepen regional cooperation in tourism and boost tourism developments on the three destinations, MGTO introduces new multi-destination tour routes together with Tourism Administration of Guangdong Province and Hong Kong Tourism Board during the Expo. China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE) 2015 is hosted by the People's Government of Guangdong Province and organized by Tourism Administration of Guangdong Province in China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou during 11 – 13 September. MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes led a delegation of MGTO and representatives of seven local tourism businesses to join the event. Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, Zhao Yufang; Head of Department of Personnel and Member of the Party Leadership Group, China National Tourism Administration, Wei Hongtao; Director General of Tourism Administration of Guangdong Province, Zeng Yingru; MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes and Executive Director of Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), Anthony Lau attended the opening ceremony and project-signing ceremony today (11 September). The three tourism authorities run a joint booth in the Expo and held a presentation session to release their new multi-destination tour routes and related travel information to industry partners today (11 September). There are five new travel routes which cover tourism resources across Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau with different highlights and themes. The World Heritage “The Historic Centre of Macao”, a wealth of culinary delights, world-class hotels and resorts, cultural and creative hub as well as island attractions in Macau, etc. are included in the itinerary. MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes also attended a networking luncheon for tourism leaders of the three destinations today (11 September), together with Director General of Tourism Administration of Guangdong Province, Zeng Yingru; Director of Zhuhai Culture Sports and Tourism Bureau, Wang Lingping and HKTB Executive Director Anthony Lau, etc. During the luncheon, they shared the latest tourism trends and discussed new cooperation opportunities to enhance tourism developments in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau. Running a 72-square-meter booth themed as "Touching Moments, Experience Macau" in the Expo, MGTO presents Macau’s diverse tourism products and latest information to the public and industry professionals., presenting Macau’s goal to build a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure. CITIE 2015 is one of the most influential and biggest international expos for the travel industry. It serves as a key platform for overseas and local industry partners not only to showcase and sell their tourism products but also to exchange the latest industry news and trends. This edition of CITIE boasts an exhibition floor of 100,000 square meters with 5,000 standard booths, expected to host over 36,000 professional buyers from more than 50 countries and regions around the world. Number of visitors is estimated to top 500,000.
