Consultation on revising the public housing regulation will commence tomorrow to collect more opinions for rationally allocate public resources and to fulfil the people’s housing needs. During the 60-day consultation, the Housing Bureau hopes to hear views on specifying income limit for “well-off tenants” – tenants with exceeding household income, and formulating penalty regulation and withdrawal scheme. Other socially concerned issues, such as adjusting age restriction of applicants, relaxing asset limit for elderly, introduction of penalty point scheme and of managing measure for keeping dog in premises, will be also explored. The Government also wants to determine the eligibility of those who are living in a government-subsidised flat, and to review its regulation on property ownership. Before 6 September, residents may download the consultation document on the Bureau’s website (www.ihm.gov.mo), and submit their opinions through email to info@ihm.gov.mo
