30 contributions for planning of reclaimed areas

The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau had so far received 30 contributions on the planning of the new urban reclaimed areas. The replies covered issues such as number of housing units in the areas, public facilities, and the forth channels that would connect Macao peninsula to Taipa island. The Bureau expected the five plots of land with a total of 350 hectares would provide 52 thousand private and public housing units, and would be homes to 162 thousand people. While 50.6 hectares of land would be prioritised for public facilities, fulfilling the increasing need in education, sports, culture, healthcare, municipal and social services. The proposal was drafted according to the opinion gathered in the first two phases of consultation that were carried out in 2010 and 2011. During the 40-day consultation period, which will end on 8 August, people may contribute their opinion through email to abcde@dsspot.gov.mo or fax to 2834 0019. There will be consultation sessions on 18 July and 1 August in the commercial centre of Tap Seac.
