AACM approves 127 extra flights to cater for the air transport need in summer

The Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR has so far approved 127 extra flights to satisfy the demand for travel of the passengers, in accordance with the applications made by airlines for this summer vacation.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR (AACM) has so far approved 127 extra flights for this summer vacation which are destined to mainland China, Taiwan China, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam in accordance with the applications by airlines. These flights are approved to cater for the demand for travel of both Macao residents and tourists who take Macao as a transit point to travel to other places. This year, the number of passengers who will be making their travels via Macau International Airport continues to increase. In accordance with the applications submitted by the airlines, namely Air Macau Company Ltd. and Tiger Taiwan, AACM has approved a total of 127 extra flights based on the present summer schedule. The operations of these extra frequencies will start from 7 July to 31 August 2015. The approved flights are 50 frequencies to Bangkok, 20 to Zhengzhou, 14 to Osaka, 13 to Chongqing, 12 each to Danang and Taipei, and 6 to Tianjin. Summer is the longest vacation among all other types of holidays in a year. Families usually make outbound travels to enjoy life and relax. AACM says, “Air Transport has become one of the vital channels for making outbound travels. Whenever it is a peak travelling period, especially July and August, airlines usually provide extra capacity to satisfy the travelling need of the passengers. Our Authority will also approve the flights in a timely manner to cope with the market demand.” In addition, AACM has approved Jetstar Pacific to operate their twice weekly scheduled services between Haiphong and Macao commencing 20 July 2015.
