Government responds to U.S. Congress report on Macao

The Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China expresses strong opposition to the content relating to Macao carried in a report lately issued by the Congressional-Executive Commission on China of the United States of America. Foreign countries have no right to interfere in China’s domestic affairs and should not interfere in any form in the internal affairs of Macao. The 2016 annual report, produced by a self-styled commission of the U.S. Congress, is groundless and baseless. Since the return to the motherland, the Macao SAR has made remarkable achievements in various aspects. These achievements have been widely recognised by international communities and agencies.
