Singapore study mission to be held in second quarter

Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) collaborated with the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises, Singapore (hereinafter referred to as ASME Singapore) and Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre to organise a training seminar on the "Best Practices of Marketing, Branding and Promotion of Singapore Enterprises” for Macao SMEs at IPIM’s Macao Business Support Centre on 28 January, with the aim of encouraging local SMEs and young entrepreneurs to learn about the successful business strategies of Singapore enterprises and hence improve their competitiveness. The seminar attracted the participation of over 130 representatives from business associations, SMEs and new enterprises from different sectors. Gloria Batalha Ung, Executive Director of IPIM attended the opening ceremony of the event and expressed that IPIM is dedicated to provide multi-dimensional “One-Stop Service” for local and overseas investors. Gloria Ung also commented that Singapore has a concrete foundation in enterprise and brand development and there are various schemes and SME success initiated by ASME. To enable Macao SMEs to learn from these successful models, the organisers invited Mr. Kurt Wee, President of ASME Singapore, Ms. Dora Hoan, CEO of Best World International Ltd. and Mr Ang Yuit, Managing Director of The Adventus Consultants Pte Ltd to be speakers at the training seminar. A wide array of topics were shared during the seminar, including Singapore’s business overview and SME development, branding strategies and the importance of branding, successful cases of selling on Ecommerce platforms. At the Q&A session, the speakers also gave their insights on how Singapore enterprises employ technology and innovation in running their businesses as well as providing suggestions to Macao SMEs on how to adopt successful practices from the Singapore experience. The seminar attracted the participation of over 130 representatives from business associations, SMEs and new enterprises from different sectors. Other participants included Wong Ian Man, President Macao Chain Stores and Franchise Association, John Ramos, Vice Chairman of Macao Fair & Trade Association, Sidney Mok, Vice Chairman of Association Small & Medium Enterprises United Macao. A study trip to Singapore will be organised by IPIM and ASME in the second quarter of the year, which is the second part of this enterprise training. The course contents and itinerary of the study trip will be planned by ASME, including site visits to Singapore enterprises. The delegation will consist of Macao SME representatives from different industries and it is hoped that this will further enable Macao SMEs to learn from the successful management and operations of Singapore enterprises. IPIM will also organise a series of events suitable for SMEs in the next few months, including a seminar on branding and design, E-commerce workshop as well as a seminar on advertising and artwork production.
